I've seen today "Shutter Island", at last. What a cast! Leo di Caprio, Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams, Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow. Three of them played with Jake in the movies. Movie is based on a book. The story is unusual and interesting. The movie from that kind, that may be watched more than one time to discover things. In 1954 U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his new partner, Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), go to the mental institution on Shutter Island, to solve the case of disappeared patient. But everything is different one could expect. Mysterious vibes, great acting, unexpected twist of plot. I recommend it strongly. There are two opinions about movie ending. For me it was simple, but for some people the ending is different.

I've watched Gran Torino today, directed by Clint Eastwood. That man knows how to make movies. He also is a main character. Very beautiful film, absolutely must seen. I think I like it the most of all Clint's movies. I was laughing, rather guffawing many times, but I also cried. It has very moving moments. About old harsh Polish American Walt Kowalski - a name is like Mr Smith in English, a war veteran. Very unpleasant for people, but with golden heart inside. Like an old cowboy in modern times. Finding true friendship with his Korean neighbours. I don't want to give to much of the plot. Absolutely worth to watch. I strongly recommend it.

Well I have seen Nanny McPhee, Returns. Kids loved it. It was cute to watch for a kid movie.
Also see The Good Girl. To me Holden and Donnie seemed similar. Kinda like that lost soul tring to find there way in the harsh world around them. I did not like Jinnifer Aniston texas accent. It didn't seen right. well it was not too bad but I like Jake better in action movies better.

Glad you liked "Good Girl", Jessica. It's one of my fav. Gyllenmovies. Actually it's one of my fav. Jennifer Aniston movies too, since I usually don't like her that much. But I know nothing about accents, so I didn't care.

I saw "Pirates of the Carribean: Stranger Tides" yesterday.
Johnny Depp was brilliant as Capt. Jake Sparrow, but I was extremly put off by the German dubbing voice. It's the same voice as Paul Walker has in "Fast Five". Didn't work for me.
The story was easier told than in part 3, but still too crowded for my liking.
I guess it was okay for POTC fans, I was a bit disappointed.

Yea Sasha, I know what you mean with Pirates 3. I was a bit dissapointed too. Just a very strange movie. I saw Pirates 4 not too long ago and that was pretty good.

I saw Drive yesterday . I liked it a lot! Now I like Ryan Gosling much more. The movie is different than I thought it would be, much better. It surprised me. The way it's made make this film so special. The way it's acted. Very slow pace. Very not emotional Ryan face. With a toothpick in his mouth, long sights, slight, nice smiles. You don't know if he's good or bad. You'd rather think he's good, but he's able to do things, you wouldn't think he's able to. Quite odd, but interesting and nice relationship with his neighbour - Carey Mulligan (link to Jake ) and her son. I saw her first time on the screen, she's a kind of grey mouse here, but likeable with a nice smile, just like Ryan. They are very similar, don't talk too much, mostly smile to each other, it creates a certain atmosphere. That movie took some ideas from many movies. Like spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood - the way he behaves, a kind of mystery around him. That he doesn't speak much. We don't know almost anything about him. We may get to know him, by the way he treats other people, the things he does to/for them. The ending of the movie is similar to some old movies. The music is also a kind of old, creates specific atmosphere. I'm glad I heard about too much violence, cause I was expecting more than I found here. It also was not as much driving as I thought. Very good beginning. I recommend it. That movie is different. To taste. A bit magical. Action, without action. Very good.
