I recently saw
*"Leap Year" a couple of times again, it has become one of my favourite romcoms
I like Amy Adams, she's so sweet and fresh and I think she has great timing for comedy
I don't like Matthew Goode that much, but in this movie I do like him
I think their chemistry is very nice. Cinematography is beautiful (Ireland)
Although, like many romcoms, the story is predictable and cliché, I find this movie very sweet, fresh and funny. The love story is developed very nicely. A great feel good movie
Even my boyfriend, who's not that much into romcoms, likes this movie a lot
From IMDB: Anna Brady plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland, to propose to her boyfriend Jeremy on February 29, leap day, because, according to Irish tradition, a man who receives a marriage proposal on a leap day must accept it. She faces a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. With the help of an innkeeper, Declan, however, her cross-country odyssey just might result in her getting engaged.
*"Dear Frankie": this is a Scottish movie, a romantic drama, with Gerard Butler, Emily Mortimer (from "Lovely and Amazing"
) and the young Jack McElhone. This is a lovely, beautiful, tender, moving story. Actors are all great and very believable. Cinematography is beautiful, and there's a kind of softness in this movie that I love.
From IMDB: Nine-year-old Frankie and his single mum Lizzie have been on the move ever since Frankie can remember, most recently arriving in a seaside Scottish town. Wanting to protect her deaf son from the truth that they've run away from his father, Lizzie has invented a story that he is away at sea on the HMS Accra. Every few weeks, Lizzie writes Frankie a make-believe letter from his father, telling of his adventures in exotic lands. As Frankie tracks the ship's progress around the globe, he discovers that it is due to dock in his hometown. With the real HMS Accra arriving in only a fortnight, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the truth or finding the perfect stranger to play Frankie's father for just one day...
-> *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!*
*"Uncertainty*: this is a drama / romance / thriller, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (I like him a lot
Will certainly be looking for other movies with him) and Lynn Collins. Acting is very good, especially by JGL, and I think it's a very good, original movie.
From IMDB: A young couple, Kate and Bobby, flip a coin on the Brooklyn bridge to determine the paths their lives take that day, the Fourth of July. The green path takes them to Brooklyn where they spend a quiet day with Kate's family, coming to a better understanding of their status as a couple. The yellow path takes them to Manhattan where they are being chased by a gunman and are in the center of a dangerous crime ring involving large amounts of money. What does the future hold for Kate and Bobby?
*"Catch Me If You Can*: movie based on a true story. With Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken. I think the story is interesting, but the movie is too long, as the movie gets longer and longer, I started to find it really boring. A pity, because imo if they would've made it a bit shorter, it could've been a better movie. The acting is mediocre, but I did like Christopher Walken's performance (who is a great actor imo
From IMDB: A true story about Frank Abagnale Jr. who, before his 19th birthday, successfully conned millions of dollars worth of checks as a Pan Am pilot, doctor, and legal prosecutor.
