I was on wonderwall.com and they did top 50 soliders in movies and Jake made to to #2 for Jarhead...I think he should have been #1, cause I really don't like Tom Cruse. Also his brother-in-law was on the list too.

Didn't know that, I went to have a look. Jake should be number one without a doubt!!! I don't like Tom Cruise either. (Only one movie I liked him in: "Magnolia", he really does a great job there!) I'm missing Laurence Harvey in the top!!! He looks very handsome in his pilot uniform in "Landfall" (can't find a pic, old movie -1949- and he played just a supporting role). He's also very handsome -imo- in "The Silent Enemy" (1958) as lieutenant Crabb and in "The Alamo" (1960) as Colonel Travis Laurence Harvey in "The Silent Enemy" Laurence Harvey in "The Alamo"

I used to like TC but not anymore. But #2 is pretty good for Jake (of course he should have been #1)

Hehe <3 Handsome, spellbinding, fascinating, great actor and a wonderful, very interesting, intelligent, witty, courageous man (I read the book his wife, Paulene Stone, wrote after his death, "One Tear is Enough - My Life with Laurence Harvey", a wonderful, and also sad and painful -when she talks about his illness-, book), yeah I like him A LOT <3

I can't imagine the pain his wife had to go through... seeing him die so young and with that disease... I can't wait to see some of his movies. And sure they should have included him instead of many I've seen there are on the list...

Indeed... She's so sweet... and then in 2005 their only daughter died too, she was only 35... (they are buried together in a grave in Santa Barbara, California). Maybe you have heard of her, she was a bounty hunter: Domino Harvey. There's a movie made about her, but I don't recommend it because frankly it has nothing to do with the real Domino, it's only very loosely based on her life, which is a real pity because it could have been a very interesting movie, as she was a very interesting young woman (her character was a lot like her dad's)... Not all of his movies are easy to find... I had to search very very intensely (and still am searching, trying to find as much of his movies I can find ), in Belgium there's not a lot I could find (only two movies and an episode of "Columbo"), I'm very happy there's EBay and Amazon! <3 I absolutely think so too

Oh Jessica thanks so much for sharing, i'm not that much original, i agree that #2 place is a really great positions as i love Jarhead and Gyllenhaal deserved more for his performance, old story, but honestly there were move great actor far away better than Cruise, like Christoper Walken, in The Deer Hunter, a Michael Cimino masterpiece, back in 1978. Or also Platoon, or Full Metal Jacket...
