I just saw "How to train your dragon" with my kids for like the tenth time. It is an animated kids movie, but Hickup is just such a sweet boy trying to fit and and still going his own way. He reminds me of my son a lot. The movie is one of the rare times where a grown up can enjoy the movie just as much as a kid.

Really. This movie was a surprise to me. Very, very good. To me as well. My son wanted to see it because he's really into dragons and knights right now. He even has a green dragon painted over his castle-style bed. I wasn't going to let him see it as in Germany it's rated for kids 6 and above but my hubby watched it with them when I wasn't at home. So then I saw it too and it's really really cute. There is so much in the dialogs that you will only get as an adult and therefore the movie is so great for all ages.

Yesterday, I saw Blue Valentine. It is a very sad film. Some scenes were difficult to watch. But the movie is very good.
Michelle and Ryan are great. I think it's the performance of their career. Ryan Gosling is very sexy and charismatic. Impressive.

Some scenes were difficult to watch. In what sense were they difficult? Just curious because I read that the movie was originally supposed to be NC17 but they made some changes and now it's rated R.

The film is about the disintegration of a marriage. Everything in the film is very real. In some moments, I felt the pain of the characters.

But the film also has beautiful scenes. So beautiful when he sings to her in the beginning of the relationship.
