Much as I love seeing Jake in different aspects of his life, I always cringe at photos of him eating in restaurants. To me this is a private activity that we shouldn't be invading. Restaurants are public places where privacy is a given: We expect to eat in peace, without intrusions. I wouldn't sit and watch another customer eat, and I assume no one is doing that to me. Sometimes diners will exchange remarks or start conversations, but that's their choice. The person who took these photos was shooting them through a window. That's like spying on your neighbors in their own house. Clearly, Jake didn't know he was being photographed.
The conversation looks so serious. It suggests a business rather than social meeting.

I agree Evie, it's intrusive and a serious 'fan' site should not show the photos, it's disrespectful to Jake, and we know he likes his privacy. These sort of pics only encourage the paparazzi even more cos they find an outlet / buyer for them. If no-one was interested, paps would go out of business :-)

It's nice to have someone agree with me on this, because there are fans who don't, and at times we have had spirited discussions here on that subject. Some Gyllenhaalics don't want to see any pap photos of Jake at all. But I don't want to criticize Stephanie for posting these photos. They're out there, and they're current, and at this point they are going to be accessible to whoever wants them. Stephanie does a wonderful job with IHJ and has been at it for a long time. I'm sure she is aware of the challenges here and weighs her decisions on posting photos of Jake in the light of past experience. I believe, for example, that she decided a few years ago not to post pictures of Maggie's children, out of respect for the family's privacy and their need to protect the kids. (We were all very excited to see pictures when Ramona Sarsgaard was born.) Other sources do post such images, but you won't see them on IHJ. Which I think is the right call.

I agree too that those pics are intrusive I think people should be left alone while they r eating or say in a store shopping but out in public on the street is a different story
