Nice pictures! maybe he's getting ready to promote Prisoners w/o beard? It feels a bit too early to be promoting Prisoners, mermon. The film was originally announced for mid-September release, but I tend to think that won't turn out to be the date. But even if it is, I wouldn't expect promotion to start until maybe August. My guess is that the (almost) shaven state of Jake's face could have more to do with Into the Woods--auditions or screen tests, possibly, or head shots. Or maybe he just had a hot date and wanted to impress the lady! In any case, soak up that dreamy face while you can. In a few days Mountain Man will be back. |

I was getting ready to ask if anyone had heard about Mississippi Grind lately. With Jake now connected to Nightcrawlers and possibly doing Into the Woods next fall or winter, I have the impression that MG may be postponed for a while. That link you posted is dated early February, mermon, and the news about Nightcrawlers came out after that. Can't recall if that project has an announced production date, though. Jake looks so virile on that bike I wonder why he hasn't signed a deal to represent some sports equipment or clothing line. He looks so elegant and cool in dress clothes, I have visualized him doing ads for a big-name designer, like Tom Ford or Armani. But maybe Jake is philosophically opposed to that type of thing; it's hard to believe he hasn't been asked. |

I didn't mention it, but I had wondered about Jake riding on the sidewalk. I don't know the NY law, but if it prohibits that, then shame on him. Sometimes he just does what he wants, which isn't always an attractive trait. Perhaps he was taking a short cut to a destination. Hopefully he got right back onto the street, which is where we've seen him biking properly before. We did see photos of him walking his bike on the sidewalk last summer, when he was at his mother's film shoot in NYC. That photo of Leo DiCaprio riding on the sidewalk goes back to 2008, and the other photo of him with his date Blake Lively (biking on the street) is clearly out of date, since she married Ryan Reynolds last year.  Celebrities can get to thinking they are special and don't have to do what the rest of us do. When you're the star of the show, everything revolves around you, everyone does your bidding, and you get used to having things the way you want them and having any inconvenience remedied. Too much trouble to bike in the street? Then I'll bike on the sidewalk! After all, I'm me. I recently saw a TV segment on Leo's private trailer, the one he uses during filming on location. It's a customized house on wheels, the largest made by its manufacturer, filled with marble and rich wood. It has 5 TVs and a spacious bedroom with its own glassed-in shower; the shower stall cost $35,000 because of the special mosaic tiles set into the floor and walls. When Leo is there working, he has his own private chef to make his meals for him in the trailer's fully equipped kitchen. And this is the guy who has made global global warming his cause and who drove one of the first Prius cars made because he's concerned about the environment. A fine example of good intentions mixed with self-indulgent extravagance. |

Interesting thing about Leo's trailer. Surely actors works hard, under a lot of tension, filled with different emotions... etc. So they need a place to hide themselves, calm down. But here it looks like a big extravaganza!
In "Jake's riding sidewalk" subject - I see it as a regular human mistake, light treating the law or the passing of a law, like crossing the streets on a red light or talking by phone while driving etc, not showing that he's a star and may act above the law. He's not a saint, but I find him rather modest.
Maybe, like you suggested, evie, Jake took a shortcut or it could be a traffic on a street, whatever. Of course, he should obey the law, but IMO he doesn't think he has a right to it as a celebrity. It looks more like a carelessness rather.

The release date sounds firm and promotion has already started, with that interview in USA. Since the article is focused mostly on Hugh Jackman, he must be the star of the film and Jake the costar. But Jake gets quoted too, which indicates he will be sharing promotion duties. I hope he shows up on some TV talk shows. |
