Hey do not worry Evie, i'm glad that you use my name also you're welcome! We can agree tha could be more than pics shown between tow human being! I agree with you about the "box issue" Evie, but maybe she's sued to carry on herself packages!;D I'm very very glad that supported by Mermon we've discovered this old flirt between Gyllenhaal and Greta Caruso. So thanks Mermon! Honestly Birdie i do think that this short flirt happened for real but didn't succeded due to the temper of David Caruso, he's very very passionate, and quite stubborn, otherwise we should have reading something about Great Caruso and Chris Fischer so far, also i didn't see the point to make such statement from her side, surely she didn't looking for advertising. I agree with Jessica as well, simply Gyllenhaal is different as hes simply growing up, i dind't see this massive differences in his shape. Sorry Deyan but i didn't see nothing wrong in Gyllenhaal in nowdays, few months ago we've all seen him in Man VS Wild and i see in no way that he wasen't in shape, simply he's different, so i find a bit too exagerated stated that "he needs more working out" also we're talking about amost 6 years ago... I don't wish to sound verbouse or make it difficoult but muscles aren't the main matter in Gyllenhaal's life, and in an actor's life, we should bare in mind that he's an actor at least and the matter is acting good, not keep himslef in good shape, and build as muscles as possible, you don't act with muscles. ;D

Maria - - unless you play Prince of Persia - Dastan. ;D I think men tend more to change from movie to movie according to the role. They have different regime of eating, exercising, depending of the character. Like Dan Taylor/ Jake exercised a lot, but in different style than Dastan/Jake. So he looks differently. I agree with you, that muscles are not the most important in acting. Like when Jake played Hal in Proof - he was a maths teacher, looked great but we didn't see any muscles and we didn't need any.

I share your point completely, unless you need to portrayed an action movie character, you don't need to inflates too much muscles. Unless you're Dastan agree with you mermon! But beside than that, we should try to respect the human being that there's behind a celebrity, i mean that some people/fans are completely obsessed from aestetic and been in shape, Gyllenhaal is gorgeous, and he's only 30ies, no need to be such picky in my humble opinion ;D Man facial features change during years, and so the body shape, but i see no point in been worried, as Gyllenhaal is gorgeous now more than in past, Otherwise several of his fans should left him behind we he'll turn be 35 year old?I'm not that kind LOL

I'm right there with you girls, I think Jake looks extremly good right now. He's my age and I know a whole lot of men who don't take half as much care of themselves as he does. There's nothing to worry about. And I like the thought of growing old "together", even if it's just on screen...

Second this again Sasha, Gyllenhaal loves sports and he loves to training, jogging biking and so it goes, i cannot recall any other 30ies actor that take care of himself- beside Micheal T.Weiss -that do this.

Is Jake Gyllenhaal playing the field or doing some damage control? Just days after Us Weekly reported that ex-girlfriends Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift laughed over his supposedly "vain and self-absorbed" tendencies during a recent lunchtime tête-à-tête, the actor stepped out with two -- count 'em, two! --
button-cute actresses.
On Sunday, he was photographed grabbing lunch in Los Angeles with Rashida Jones. Also along for the meal: a few pals and Jake's dog, Atticus, who received some nuzzling from the "Parks and Recreation" looker.
The next day, Gyllenhaal was spotted with his arm slung around a stony-faced Anna Kendrick (see the pics here), his co-star on the currently shooting flick "End of Watch."
Like with Jones, this wasn't exactly a romantic outing. The pair munched on Subway sandwiches with some friends. What's more, Jake still seemed to be in character, sporting a gold band around his ring finger.

I found this little writing on wonderwall. So I posted it. It make reference on two of his exes. I hope that they were not talking about him because I feel that he dose his best not to put what happened with them in the public eye. It would be rude to do so. I also seen the pic with Anna and she kinda looks upset or maybe she is just tired. Well here ya go and enjoy.

I also seen the pic with Anna and she kinda looks upset or maybe she is just tired. Well here ya go and enjoy. I just posted a thread in Eye Candy about the gas station pix with Anna Kendrick. I think they were shooting scenes for the movie, and that's the reason for the wedding ring, because Jake and Anna play a married couple. In other pictures Anna is smiling and seems relaxed. I think the arm around the shoulder is for the camera. Offscreen Anna's got a boyfriend and may even be engaged. There's nothing going on with her and Jake, IMO. In fact, the group at the gas station is a mix of cast and crew for EOW, and they're on their way to location in Las Vegas. Wow, I really hate the report that Reese and Taylor dished about Jake. That's nasty. Vain and self-absorbed? That doesn't match with what we know of him and have seen and heard about these women and Jake's relationship with them. Reese praised him as a "fantastic" guy, and always appeared to be very attached to him. He never said a mean word about either woman. In the self-absorbed department, Reese wrote the book. How tacky, to bad-mouth a guy who was an intimate part of her life for more than 2 years.

evie i think us magaine which had the first story about Reese and Taylor talking about jake was completely make up up by them gossip co pis they cant be believed said they did talk about Jake but they never said those things about him plus most of the comments people made to US magazine about that article didnt believe it said Jake wasnt that type of person and if true that Reese and Taylor were the vindictive ones and i agree evie Jake is not a vain spiteful person I admire Jake for keeping a cool head and not lashing out hes a real gentlemen

I agree with Evie - the pics with Anna were for EOW, so no damage control there.
As for Reese and Taylor - I would believe that Jake is a little vain, but IMO that's nothing to worry about. His body and face are part of his "brand", his value he makes money with. Of course he's a brilliant actor, but he would have never been cast as Dastan, Jamie or even for EOW if he weight 400 pds and had a face like the Hunchback of Notredamn. So obviously he needs to take care of himself - if that's what you consider VAIN then yeah, you're right. But then every actor is vain, so why point it out on Jake?
About being self-absorbed: a lot of really good actors are so good, because they kept the inner child in them so well. And kids tend to be a little self-absorbed. But there is a difference between being self-absorbed and being mean. Jake has always taken care of himself, yet he's there for other's too. Just think of "Eyes for the Needy" or "Edible Schoolyard". Plus there are tons of pictures, where you can see that he's clearly enjoying being around people he has fun with (like the "Railroad Revival Tour" - the tour itself and when he played basketball with those pupils at that one school) without worrying about what he looks like or that he's being photographed. Remember that picture he took at his dentist's office with the assistant. Somebody self-absorbed would not take the time to do that right before a painful dental surgery.
I assume that Jake does take more time for himself than an average man would, but to me that's part of his job. And like Evie said - Reese is not exactly a humble person either. I mean - come on - who would have a magazine write about her wedding and then only have a picture of herself - without the groom - on the title. How self-absorbed is that.
Book - you're totally right about Jake being a true gentleman - never saying anything about any of his exes.

It's hard to believe that Reese, who is 14 years older than Taylor, was gossiping with her about Jake, in a way that the others could hear that. I don't know if Jake is vain. He's self confident for sure as anyone should be. Aware of him self, knowing his values. It comes with the age, as well as with the proper raising and with the acceptance and admiration coming from the other people. I don't know Jake personally, but he always looks to me as a person paying big attention to the person he's with at the moment. Interviewer, journalist, friends, girlfriends etc. He focuses on them, he doesn't seems self absorbed at all. But of course I may be wrong. I think, like Sasha said - in the movie business is normal to be a bit vain and self absorbed. It may even be helpful. On the other hand, if they didn't say anything like that about Jake, how bad they could feel after that gossip, thinking, that Jake could believe in that story and felt hurt about it.
