Mermon thanks so much for posting the missing page! I'll try to translate it, later. I've now tried to translate the last bit of the last page. When I've translated the middle page, I'll post everything here in the right order, which will make it more pleasant to read He’s got piercing (fascinating) eyes Since the beginning of his career, Jake’s secret is this look, so profound, that it (he) would (could) bewitch the most short-sighted of the audience. Big tender (loving, soft) eyes, a heart of gold, it makes you want to eat him (figurative, meaning he’s so cute). In “Brokeback Mountain” he gave his character an extra touch of soul. Same thing in “Jarhead”, from Sam Mendes (2006), or (and) “Zodiac”, from David Fincher (2007). A charming asset which makes him one of Hollywood’s big seducers. It has been rumoured that he would have seduced Natalie Portman, and has resisted Scarlett Johanssen’s advances. In reality, he has dated Kirsten Dunst for 2 years, and after that, he had a long idyll with Reese Witherspoon, which has ended in December 2009. It’s whispered, that Jake, a hopeless romantic, would have done anything to win the beautiful blond back. The brown counter-attack… It must be said that he’s got the reputation of being faithful in love and unrenowned (unknown) for his wild (extreme) behaviour (note: meaning he’s a calm person). “I’m not someone who goes out a lot, and goes to night-clubs”, he admits. He who refuses to talk about his private life, doesn’t say anything more. And he prefers to talk very detailed about his jumps (stunts), rather than to reveal his feelings. Ah, boys… PATRICK WILLIAMS

You're very welcome, Maria YES I've done it, finished! I'll post the whole translation here: Jake Gyllenhaal the charming loverHe has blown us away playing a melancholic gay cowboy in “Brokeback Mountain”, he’s going to make us enthousiastic with “Prince of Persia” , jumping and virile. A meeting with Hollywood’s new sex symbol.Forget everything you thought you knew about about Jake Gyllenhaal. If you knew something… The actor with the beautiful melancholic look, known in France for his great performance as a homosexual cowboy in “Brokeback Mountain” (2006) has had enough of playing fragile characters. He dreams about action movies, fights and stunts. He shows his oiled muscles in “Prince of Persia” (in theatres 26th of May), a huge production adapted from the videogame with the same name, where he plays an Oriental prince, jumping and pumped-up (supercharged). An ancient-adventure movie, genre “Pirates of the Caribbean”, full of humour and mystery, perfect for watching with family. And which is going to propel him in the very select group of international male stars. However, in the sunny suite from hotel Casa del Mar (House of the Sea), in Santa Monica, where he receives us, Jake’s got nothing from a Schwarzenegger or a Bruce Willis. Tall guy, totally normal, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, talking with a soft voice, gifted with humour and halftone, he keeps this air of gloomy Droopy which has made the audience enthousiastic (like him so much) (in the United States, his fans are so addicted that they call them “Gyllenhaalics”). No doubt we are going to see a lot from this hot guy in the coming years. But howcome, at age 29, has Jake become sizzling hot? He has become a manWith “Prince of Persia”, Jake makes his coming-out. Done with intellectual movies, make place for good old popular cinema. “Actually, in real life, I’m much closer to (means: he’s more like) the hero of “Prince of Persia” than to tortured characters that I have played in the past like Donnie Darko (in the cult-movie with the same name, which he made in 2002). I’m a very physical person, I do (practise) kung-fu, horse riding, VTT (freeride – bike)… I have always loved action movies. When I was a little boy I dreamed in front of Harrison Ford’s exploits (heroic adventures) or from Errol Flynn…” That has not been easy for him to acknowledge that hidden part. Raised in an artistic family, where intelligence was very important -his father is a director, his mother a screenplay writer, and his sister, Maggie, an intellectual actress, an inspiration for American moviemakers- for a long time he underwent their influence, concerned as he was about their look (how they saw him). “Prince of Persia” permits him to finally emancipate (to cut himself loose, to liberate himself). “Today, I have gained confidence in myself, I try to make movies that please me, and never mind if it’s not approved by my family… I remember that, when I was a child, my tastes –in music, in movies- provoked a cynical face with my parents. That has a chilling effect on you. It’s classic in families: they try to instil you with their values, lay high hopes on you, often with the best intentions in the world, but they don’t notice that they prevent you from being who you really are.” These days (now), Jake assumes that he is who he is and he does a terribly good (meaning: very good) job at it. He’s a family manBeing the youngest of an harmonious family, he has always been very close to them. And also, one of the things this normal (simple) guy is proud of, is that he has made a magnificent wooden table for his parents’s dining room… “Knowing that each evening they sit around that table, makes me happy” He says that he would ‘ve become a cook, a landscape gardener or a carpenter, if he wouldn’t have become an actor. Not common for an overbooked Hollywood actor. One also remembers that, when he was together with Reese Witherspoon, he loved spending time with the star’s two kids, Ava and Deacon, announcing to everyone at large wishing (that he wished) to set up a home. But it’s with his sister, Maggie, that his “family fever” expresses the most. As a child, he passionately loved his older sister (she’s three years older than him) to a point of competition with her, and even, sometimes, to feel get run over (by her). But now, that’s over. Both have become stars. Maggie triumphs in “Crazy Heart”, next to Jeff Bridges, Jake scores in (with) “Prince of Persia”. “My sister and I are incredibly close, and that closeness grows every day. I see it as a real blessing. Maggie is an extraordinary person. Of course, I’m very proud that she has been nominated at the Oscars, but if she would have a different profession, I would love her just as much. This rivalry we’ve had, or that we said we had, I’ve got the impression it never existed” He says this with so much seriousness, emotion in his voice, that it’s clear he’s not laughing (joking). He hides (conceals) a sensible heartUnderneath his pectorals (muscles) beats a tender heart. (Assure yourself, since “Prince of Persia” his muscles have become more flexible). When he’s asked if he’s got the complex of a weakling who dreams about being “bodybuilded”, he answers: “No, not really. During the shooting (note: shooting of the movie), there was a white horse, so nervous and wild, that I had difficulty getting on it. And then there was a little black horse, easier, on which I clearly preferred riding. I will always be the little black horse…” Cute, isn’t it, the idea that he would be a little black horse (that’s) easy to ride? And what to say about his passion for cooking, which doesn’t really reveal a physical macho man? “I have grown and only eat farm products. In my family, they cooked a lot, thàt good that I’ve gotten the taste for it. I think cooking is a way to relax, to meditate, to express one’s love from others. But I’m quite stubborn (uncompromising, unbending). For example, I don’t have any favourite dishes. I think one must be able to perfectly create a dish, no matter which ingredient you start with. I could make you a great soup, using only what’s on this table: your digital recorder and that bowl of cookies!” (laughs) He’s the prince of dry humourOne should see it (him), in Los Angeles, answering female journalists who are under his spell, during a bedazzled round-table conference. Cool, relaxed, he won everybody over with his humour and halftone. Does he think that “Prince of Persia” could please a feminine audience? “Oh yes, because of my arms! I did a lot of body-building and, at one moment, my muscles were so swollen that I couldn’t bend my elbows anymore in my leather suit. It was a bit grotesque…” About his beard and his hair, unusually long in the movie, he answers: “Honestly, I don’t have any merit (note: meaning it’s not he who did all the work). My hairs did all the work. You should be able to drill them (note: not sure of this one sorry).” And why wanting to do all the stunts, at a point where the producer Jerry Bruckheimer had to forbid him (to do all the stunts) for his own safety? “I’m not that reckless… After all, I’m Jewish. As you know, there’s a certain concern for (to care about) one’s own safety in Jewish culture… “ In short, although (or: despite the fact that) Jake lives in L.A and loves weightlifting, one would (could) easily see him in a Woody Allen movie. At the same time beautiful and funny? Athletic and sensible? One foot in Los Angeles, the other one in New York? It’s a man’s dream. He’s got piercing (fascinating) eyesSince the beginning of his career, Jake’s secret is this look, so profound, that it (he) would (could) bewitch the most short-sighted of the audience. I'm happy I could find missing piece, thank you all, for thanking me. Els, chapeau bas for your translation! Thank you for that. That's very interesting article about Jake. - Poor Jake! Cynical? Awful. Me and my daughter are lucky, cause I like the music she listens to and she likes my older music. - Wow! He really opened up himself. It such a treasure to read that about Gyllenhaals. If I may say so, I think Jake is the cutest and the most interesting among them. ;D - It's so sweet. He made a right choice. Being an actor he may be all those persons on the screen and in the spare time he could do all those things as an entertainment in his real life. He's so modest admitting his favourite occupations. "Avoir beau - however, no matter what, to do something in vain.»" ... However(Despite) Jake lives in LA and loves weightlifting - one would easily see him in a Woody Allen movie.
