Hello people of IHJ. My name is is Johnny. I've been a member of the ihjmedia part of this site for a while now but just realized there's a message board. So I wanted to drop by & say thanks to Ally for maintaining such an awesome site for us fans & to also say hello to everyone else who frequents this site. I've been on Team Gyllenhaal since 2005. I've loved Donnie Darko since high school but Brokeback was the film that really entranced me with Mr. Gyllenhaal. Also just recently found out he was in City Slickers & I've loved that film since I was a kid. About me? Hmm. I'm like that drawer in your kitchen that has 'the other stuff' in it, i.e. rubber bands, miscellaneous screws, buttons, those 'plastic pieces' you find while vacuuming that you know go to something but you're not sure what, haha. I'm a huge fan of punk rock & pop punk music (blink-182, Rancid, New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World etc.) but also enjoy a hearty helping of pop music from time to time. I'm an avid.. err.. meticulous user of Tumblr so feel free to follow me if you have one. I update often & will follow back. fearlessjohnny.tumblr.comNice to meet you all. I work graveyard shifts on Friday & Saturday nights so I'll be on here mostly those nights, usually bored out of my mind & very talkative.

Yes, it is! Nice to have another Pole here. I'm not sure, if we invented vodka, never heard about it. Are we awesome? I don't know, nice that you think we are. Have you ever been to Poland?

Yes, it is! Nice to have another Pole here. I'm not sure, if we invented vodka, never heard about it. Are we awesome? I don't know, nice that you think we are. Have you ever been to Poland? The word "vodka" was recorded for the first time in 1405 in Akta Grodzkie,[7] the court documents from the Palatinate of Sandomierz in Poland.[7] At the time, the word vodka (wódka), referred to chemical compounds such as medicines and cosmetics' cleansers, while the popular beverage was called gorzałka (from the Old Polish gorzeć meaning to burn), which is also the source of Ukrainian horilka (горілка). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vodka) I never have visited Poland before, although I would love to one day! My ancestors came from the Krakow area around 1910, so I'd like to find other family members from there some time soon. Our original spelling was "Parczomski" or "Parchomski" ... which sounds correct, do you think?

Awesome! I am from Kraków myself. ;D Yes, Parczomski sounds very Polish. I don't know anyone with such a name. I checked my local phonebook for thatname, didn't find any. Parczewski only. Close, but not the same. Thx for vodka history, interesting!
