A replay to Sasha. - I am so used to mermon, of course, just call me that way. That's how I feel on forum. My real name - Marzena comes from Margaret or Maria - there are two interpretations. And that's very funny in my case, cause my second name is Margaret and my third is Maria. ;D It doesn't mean anything, but sounds familiar to verb "dream" in my language. And talking about our kids name, my daughter's name is Jagoda what means "berry" in English.

Since there's talk of kids names i'll jump in on this conversation lol My oldest daughter is named Kassandra Skyler, but we call her Kassie (kassandra after her father's mom) and my youngest is Kendall Isabella

And there are plenty names with a foreign sound for germans too like the typical Kevin *rollswithhereyes* If anyone considers Kevin a good choice for a kid being born in Germany NOW they might reconsider having a child altogether. I like Kevin as a name, being a big fan of Kevin Spacey, but you're chances of getting a decent job in Germany are just beyond bad with that name! you are right on spot there ... same goes for Jaqueline also named "schakeline" (sorry probably our non germans won't understand how it is pronounced in some parts of our beloved country)

@ Mermon - I'll keep that name then! BTW - Jagoda is actually very nice, I never heard it before though. @ Liz - Kassie is so cute, I love that. And Kendall reminds me of Randall, Jamie that is ;D
Names are a very delicate thing I think. Not everyone is appropriate any place. Like my best friends kids are called Abigail and Jared. Now most people on the board would not think anything of that - nice names, right? But just like me they live in a very small village where most kids have traditional bavarian names. Literally nobody is able to spell either one of those names and they get poked on all the time. The "gail" part in Abigail is a german term for being sexually aroused and you can imagine how funny that is for a young girl! I think parents should think about that too before choosing a name...

haha Sasha I wonder what their last names are - Abigail really is not a good choice. Just like apple made with their iPad (I know it's not human but it is a sign of not thinking enough when naming) but Sasha we really have the same thoughts here - guess it's because we "learned it the hard way"

It's so funny how differently we evaluate the names depending of the place we live. Even in Germany, as you wrote, it changes depending is it in the country or the city. In my ears Sasha sounds very nice and soft, Kassandra for me is a prophetess - very mysterious. Nice name. Abigail I like a lot, when I was a teenager it was a very good Hungarian series and main character had that name.
