Also his claim his father was stationed at "Shtuckheim" Air Force base. I'm not from Germany, but from that little country at the left "the Netherlands" * grins * I hear Randy say "Strunkheim air force base in southern Germany" Can't find any base with that name. After hearing it 15 times I hear Randy say "panzer division hitlerjugend" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12th_SS_Panzer_Division_Hitlerjugendhmmm Elly help ... am I right?

You can't find any US Air Force base by that name because there is none. His whole story is made up. He says he was there when he was 10...He was in New Hampshire, USA when he was 10. that's when he played in a production of the Music Man. The family moved the following year to the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. As far as what he said about the so-called cub scout group...doesn't jugend mean youth? Wasn't Hitler Jugend the name for the Hitler Youth Corps? He was probably using German for the Panzer units and the Hitler Youth to say that his mother accidently put him in a neo-Nazi youth organization thinking it was equivilent to the cub scouts. You can tell from the laughter that many of the people there got the joke.

No, i´m pretty sure it´s Strunkheide. It was the biggest ammunitions dump of the US airforce. Randy pronounced it mistakenly like Strunkheim. Greta,Spangdahlem would be logical but i don´t think he said that. This video is not my favourite (i like the "Shake me down" performance better). Oh and just for the record: nobody in Germany wears Lederhosen, except for the Bavarians! ;D

OOOPs...I should have read the link to wikipedia. It explains that he WAS referring to a Hitler Youth Panzer Unit.

But most humor comes from stereotypes and it was pretty damn funny seeing him strip off the altar boy robes and reveal the Lederhosen. Plus half the people in the audience probably thought of The Sound of Music when they saw him dressed like that and TSOM was Austria! (Then again Joseph Ratzinger AKA Benedict XVI is Austrian and not German. Hey...who says humor has to be accurate.)

Maybe that's why I'm confused

from The Hollywood Reporter: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/mark-pedowitz-named-president-cw-183298A bit from a longish article: <<Earlier this week, Ostroff’s regime renewed five series, including Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, 90210, Supernatural and Top Model. Though real estate is limited come fall, multiple sources say The Secret Circle (from Vampire Diaries’ Kevin Williamson) and Heavenly pilots look to be strong contenders for next season’s schedule. Pedowitz has already read the net's pilot scripts and says he will begin delving into the process later on Thursday.>>
