Hello everyone! I'm Els. I'm 37 and I live with my boyfriend in Kapellen (near Antwerp), Belgium. I'm a primary school teacher (my dream job! ) I like reading (favourite writer: Alessandro Baricco), riding together on my boyfriend's Harley (a softail classic), learning Italian (self-study, as a hobby), I like all kinds of riddles like cryptograms, sudoku..., like to walk, to laugh, to do fun things in general, just enjoying life's little things, and I love my job (which is like a hobby to me) I haven't been a Jake Gyllenhaal fan for long, but I will be for ever ever since I saw him in "Brokeback Mountain" on November 6th 2010! First movie from him I saw was a long time ago, "City Slickers". Then in 2008 I saw him in "Rendition" which I think is a very good, interesting movie, I noticed him but didn't know his name or anything. Third movie I saw with him was BM and he just blew me away with his amazing acting! He's my all time favourite actor since then; he's an outstanding actor not only with spoken lines, but especially the way he uses his body language impresses me a lot, for instance he can say so much with only one look or the way he holds his body... After BM I began to search vids with him on YT and I think he comes accross as a genuinely nice, profound guy, with a (sometimes hilarious) nice sense of humour Through my searches, I came accross this wonderful site and I've been surfing and reading a lot and now decided to join I would like to congrat the webmistress for this excellent job, it must take a lot of time and effort to maintain this site and always keep it up-to-date, I really admire that! So, after I saw BM and the vids on YT, I was totally "under the spell" of Jake Gyllenhaal and I began to search all his other movies, I found them all and only have to see ADW (which I found on EBay and will be sent to me soon ) I think Jake's movies are all good-very good-excellent, there's not one bad one, which I think is a very rare thing! Also I like his choice in movies and his acting is always superb! My favourite movie with him is BM, followed by "Jarhead", "The Good Girl" and "Love & Other Drugs". Greetings to everyone, Els xxx

Salve Maria Piacere di fare la tua conoscenza Thank you for you warm welcome I've always loved your native language, it's really beautiful! When I was 22 I went on a bus tour to Italy for a few days, I went to Venezia (my favourite), Firenze, Pisa, Lucca (beautiful pittoresk little town, place of birth of Puccini, I like his opera's) and the city of Romeo & Juliet: Verona I'm trying to learn Italian with the book Assimil, in combination with dictionnary, grammar book and I also read a lot of Italian Easy Readers books (from A to D series), and now I've ordered a book on the internet, called "Fiabe d'Italia", I'm looking forward to it Understanding the language is going quite well, speaking is more difficult. Spelling is all right but I'm having quite some problems with grammar, which I sometimes find very difficult. I can't find any books with exercises, it would be a great help if I could find some My birthday is in April, I will be 38 on the 14th Un abbraccio, Els xxx

Hello Els. It's nice to meet a compatriot from the province of Antwerp. I'm a longtime Jake fan and loyal member to this interesting place. Stephanie has done a great job with Ally's website, hasn't she? She really is a fantastic I Heart Jake-keeper.
BBM (Brokeback.. ) is also my favorite. Although, in LOAD he is wonderful too. Hope he gets an Oscar for this. I long to see his last movie Source Code. Alas, we'll have to wait till May, I think. Btw... which movie do you mean by ADW?
Hope to see you around. Groetjes!

@maria: Grazie mille, sei molto gentile Well that's a great idea for a future trip maybe I'll go to Roma in October Another good idea from you (thanks ), I can try to find school books with exercises Yes indeed, very nice that Jake (and of course, the fantastic webmistress who made this site and maintains it ) has brought us all together, here on this lovely place on the net Stephanie: Thank you for your warm welcome Sheilah: Thank you for your warm welcome, very nice to meet you, compatriot Yes, she's done (and still does) an absolutely *amazing* job on this site! It must take a lot of effort and time to maintain it and keep it up-to-date! Indeed, Jake is superb in LOAD (LOVE him in that movie !!! I'd give him the Golden Globe and Oscar in an instant Really such pity he didn't get an Oscar for BM, he so deserved to get it, imo! ADW = A Dangerous Woman, the only movie with him I hadn't seen yet, up until today that is Just saw it this afternoon, interesting, good movie! Jake has a very small part in it, he plays a kind of a bully (Debra Wingers plays a "mentally slow" woman and Jake plays a kid who bullies her one time - I don't know the right word but he torments her mentally, with words, not physically) Knuffel, Els xxx

He certainly deserved one. A Dangerous Woman, of course. I know the story but I never saw the movie. I wasn't very interested because Jake's part was not that important. I have all his movies starting from October Sky, with the exception of Bubble Boy. In the Day After Tomorrow he was not that good, imo. After that movie Jake once said that he was tired of playing young guys, and from now on he would play adult roles... and he did. Knuffel back
