Eausavage: I am not sure why you do not believe Jake's relationship with Ledger/Williams/Matilda, but I respect your opinion. I also do not think that talking about BBM in any way diminishes Jake's career. Like MJG said, every actor/actress is sort of known for a particular role, and BBM just happens to be Jake's. As to date it is his most acclaimed performance, really skyrocketing him to A List stardom, and is also the most acclaimed film he's ever starred in. To many of us it is a very special performance, and BBM has changed many lives. It is my fav Jake performance, however, I still love his other work, and of course the man himself. Jake himself even brings up Heath a lot, as well as BBM, and how it was a different and memorable experience for him. And naturally it is going to be brought up while promoting LAOD because of his past with Anne. Anyway, it's just a big film in Jake's career. And I hope to see him top it in the future. ;D well i promise myself stop posting as i'm becoming very boering but i wish to reply to you Thanks firstly to share your opinion, and i'de agree with you that taking BBM role bring praise to Gyllenhaal, for my taste he's damn good, better then in BBM, in Jarhead, but everyone have different opinion, and i'm quite fine with that. ;D I like BBM, i've went in theatre to see it wth my father and my twin sister, so i've been part of the moment, but simply since Ledger dead, every possible specualtions and rumors have magnified something that was just friendly acquaintance, in late 2006 both of actors take separate way.I speaked as fair as can of Ledger and Gyllenhaal, as friend or collegues, or just acquaintances, but simply after 5 years all becoming really hard to manage, as i've read all the possible about BBM. I'm not feeling free to speak merely about Gyllenhaal sometimse and this bothers me, as i care just about him and his movies and his career, i'm not interestd in all the other's actors career just 'cause share an artistc experience with Gyllenhaal.

I just posted the quote from Jake about her. I was not talking about Michelle's career, because this is not her website. I also did not tell anyone read the article.

You've posted in the Gyllenhaal news thead supposingly is something ralated to Gyllenhaal and his own career, this is not. Actually i don't see any article juts the quoting about Williams, you din't tell anybody to read that quote, but you've posted as it was a Gyllenhaal news and i've discover once i've readed that was a statement of Gyllenhaal about another collegue, simply. Then seriously i don't comment anymore as i really didn't wish to deabating anymore on this.

Well, then you need to talk to the person who started this tread, because there is nothing indicating that can not put quotes from Jake on other actors. Especially with something posted on a website yesterday.

eausavage: I agree that there were lots of speculation regarding Jake after Heath's death, as well as some negativity toward Jake during that timeframe, which wasn't fair. However, you shouldnt let that reflect badly upon the bond they shared and the film they did together, imo. Heath/Michelle/Matilda/BBM will always be a part of Jake's life, as well as a point of interest for many fans. Monica posted the quote because it does have to do with Jake (a statement he recently made) but also regards a person in his personal and professional life. I thought it was perfectly relevant, and very nice. Jake has a way with words, and I always enjoy hearing what he has to say about the people in his life that he admires. It's always sincere and heartfelt. There's no phoniness about it, you know? He's not fake. Oh and he was very good in Jarhead, but I prefer his performance in BBM to Jarhead. But yes, his performances are subjective, and 2005 was such a good year for Jake with Jarhead, BBM, and Proof. I am hoping that Source Code will do great this spring. And thanks Book.

I thought about this for a long time now and to me it looks like Maria cannot understand why Heath should still play any part in Jake's life since he is dead longer than he knew Jake.
Maria - just an example: my husband had a friend who was engaged to a girl I didn't know at all. Two months before their wedding (which we weren't invited too as we weren't close friends), the man had a car accident and died. Even though the girl is still not one of my closest friends I stay in contact with her, talk on the phone evey couple of months. And when we talk her dead fiancé takes up a lot of time in our conversation. I now know a lot more about that man then when he was alive and now I feel sorry I didn't take the time to get to know him when he was still alive.
What I am trying to say is that dead people can have quite an impact on your life and sometimes their shadow grows bigger on you than their real life presence would have. I don't know if you can understand what I like to point out. Maybe Jake and Heath wouldn't still be friends if Heath was still alive but you don't stop thinking of someone as your friend AFTER he died.

I partially agree with both Marie and Sasha, simply i don't wish to spend time and attentions to other's actors, just cause between them there was a friendly aquietance. And it's all, then i really don't wish to post something more about it.

Today I read on the page of a German TV, that Reese Witherspoon and her Manager/Boyfriend are engaged ... I'm so sorry for Jake!
Reese was his big love and he wanted to marry her, but she didn't want that... so the press. And now.. a few month later, she wants to marry a other man ... I think, this will hurts Jake, as well as he is in love with Taylor!

You did not know that he said no to Avatar? Avatar is a movie just ok, but it would have been great for Jake.

I am not reducing the career of Jake. BBM is an important film for the cinema and for the life of Jake, Heath and Michelle. There was a connection between them, something that will last for the rest of their lives. This is very rare to occur in the film industry, and has to be appreciated. I just posted a part of the article where Jake says beautiful and true words about his friend. It was a special time in all their lives. A special movie not to be repeated. And a chemistry between all the actors that is SO special it is almost sacrosanct. Even though the film was released 5 years ago it still holds a special place in cinema history. BBM is in the top of every 'best movie of the decade' lists I've seen on line. Jake is proud of the work he did on that movie. And is happy with the friendships he walked away with after that movie was done. Anne and Michelle mean a lot to him (as did Heath) I don't think you will ever see BBM NOT being mentioned in some way whenever Jake is mentioned.

Jake was at Heath's funeral in LA. He spoke about Heath in GQ, it must have been very painful over the past 2 years and I think he reached a point where he feels more at ease talking about Heath.
I love BBM, I've seen all of Jake's films and to me, aside from Oct Sky and TDAT, I think as of right now it is his best performance. He won a Bafta for his performance.

Avatar would have been very very good for his career, something like Titanic for Leo DiCaprio.
Leo was a respected actor, but after Titanic he became a world star.
