I think I didn't watch Rendition and the City Slickers so far! Last Sunday I finally watched Brothers. Almost two years after it was released in the US. ::)But it was so worth it! What an amazing film. And so sad, I cried from time to time. Jake was perfect for the role of Tommy and I wish I could have watched it in the OV because the German voice was so not him. But I managed to ignore that fact and tried to concentrate on his acting which was brilliant as usual!

I haven't seen it yet, so I wouldn't be able to answer that. I think Els has seen all movies, she might be able to tell you.

Hehe Indeed I have seen all his movies and I've got them all on dvd (except for two that are VHS: "A Dangerous Woman" and "Josh and S.A.M") But that doesn't make me an expert of course, in the end it's all about personal taste Lauren, I can't imagine why your dad keeps on telling you not to watch MM. I like that movie very much! It's a very interesting, human movie, worth watching! I know Maria didn't like it very much because the movie is a bit too slow for her taste, but personally I didn't mind that it's quite slow... The story is interesting, and Jake is excellent in that movie, as are Dustin Hoffman, Susan Sarandon and Ellen Pompeo Don't listen too much to your dad! Wow Sasha, you've done a great deal! I'm so happy for you! I'm curious to read your review about the two movies you haven't seen yet: "Proof" and especially about "The Good Girl" because that is one of my absolute favourite movies with Jake Yay I'm so happy for you! Why don't you dare watch DD? It's an interesting movie BUT I didn't like that in the end, too much questions about interesting details are still not clear, I had to look for more info about it on the net, afterwards... It's not that I don't like being left with a few questions, but in this case it was just too much "mystery", imo could've been more explained in the movie itself...

My dad keeps telling me not to watch Moolight Mile... what is so bad about it? well Lauren i dind't imagine why your dad told you that, actually in this movei there's nothing suhc explicts, nor shocking scenes, i mean true Joe girlfrien get shooted and died, but isnn't a rought scene, the sex sceens aren't explicts eas well, so beside the fact that you are sensitive to certain things, such as family ties too close, hearing voices of loved ones in a dream, moved from sense of guilt of the subconscious, i don't think is a movie to avoid. I did not like, but only at the end tastes.Els pointed well the cats is very good. here's the plot of the movie taken from wikypedia: Following the murder of Diana Floss (Careena Melia) in a restaurant robbery, her fiancé Joe Nast (Jake Gyllenhaal) elects to stay with her parents. Her father Ben Floss (Dustin Hoffman) is a realtor whose partner has recently left. Ben and Joe go into business as Floss & Son, as this was their plan before Diana's death. Joe goes to the post office to retrieve all the invitations that had been sent out for his and Diana's wedding, and with the help of Bertie Knox (Ellen Pompeo) he retrieves seventy four of seventy five. She finds the last invitation and takes it to his house later that night. He drops her off at a local bar, and returns home, despite her inviting him in for a drink. Joe and Ben attend a local property fair, and Ben pitches the idea of redeveloping a block in the town to developer Mike Mulcahey (Dabney Coleman). Mulcahey agrees, but they need to get all the tenants to agree.
Diana's friends come round to look through her possessions, much to the consternation of her mother Jojo (Susan Sarandon). They then take Joe out for a drink at the same bar Bertie went into the previous night. Joe puts "Moonlight Mile" on the jukebox and Bertie dances with him, to jealous looks from Diana's friends. Joe convinces Ben to let him talk to the bar's owner to convince them to sell. He asks the bartender who owns the bar, but the bartender does not give him the information. Feeling trapped at the Floss home, Joe goes to see Bertie and they sleep together. He leaves early the next morning.
Ben is frustrated at the lack of progress and goes to the bar to see the owner, where he meets Bertie and tells her about Diana. Bertie finds Joe and confronts him; he confesses to her that he had split up with Diana three days before she was killed. Bertie tells Joe about her boyfriend, the owner of the bar, who is lost in Vietnam. Joe goes to dinner at the Mulcahey's, where Mike's wife rudely presumes aloud that she thought Joe was not still tied up with thoughts of his fiancee's murder. Joe states that this is not the case, completely upsetting the mood at the dinner table. This causes Mike to call Ben and call off the deal. The family attends the trial of Diana's murderer. However the murderer's wife elicits sympathy from the jury, and the prosecutor, Mona Camp (Holly Hunter), asks Joe to testify and help the jury gain sympathy for Diana. While on the witness stand, Joe confesses that he and Diana had split and that they remained friends but were no longer getting married. Ben and Jojo are happy with the confession and gain closure. Joe symbolically writes 75 letters expressing his newfound clarity about what course his life ought to take and places them in mailboxes around town, hoping that one will get to Bertie.
Ben closes the shop, Jojo resumes her writing career, Bertie sells the bar, and she and Joe leave town.Hope this helps.

with the help of Bertie Knox (Ellen Pompeo) Oh, now I know where "our" Bertieknox got the idea for her nick from. I never knew! Thanks for posting, Maria. I will include MM in my next Amazon shopping spree in June when Brothers and LAOD will be available in German.

I have seen October Sky tonight with my daughter. We both liked it a lot. It's such a sweet movie. I've seen it second time already. Jake was really good in that. It's based on true story. It's very inspiring. I've try to watch Highway with my daughter yesterday, I liked it a lot, but she couldn't stand it, too much drugs, and rock&roll for her. So I enjoyed it alone.

I'm sure you will like October Sky, but I am really wonder if you will like Highway, because of some scenes. Despite them, I like the movie, And Jake/Jared team. And the story is interesting to me. It just, I was never able to understand why people destroy their life or the other people's life taking or selling drugs. But Pilot/Jake has something special about him, that I take him without blinking. Not even as a man, cause in that movie he's a kid actually, but as a human being. I would like to know what could possibly happen to him in his future. He was smart, with good heart. I like to think he was able to find right love and walk a straight path in his life. I think he deserves that.

I have seen 10 of 21 ... a good 50% well I'm pretty new to gylls-world and the rest is mostly due to the fact that I don't like voice overs and therefore can't just go to the cinema when the movie comes out but have to wait and actually have the luck that his movies will be in an english theatre :/

Very good, Annie. I have seen 12,5* yet. I count L&A as half seen, cause I saw all the scenes with Jake in it on You Tube and the * is for having heard Jake do the narative on "The man who walked between the towers.
I still have to see Donnie Darko, October Sky, Highway, Moonlight Mile and Brothers. So that'll give me something to do till End of Watch. I don't think I will see Josh and SAM, Homegrown and Dangerous Woman, as Jake is just a kid in those.
