bit.ly/13GqlUh Mermon, you're a sweetheart for posting all these links. They're great! Thank you. Alas, I can't listen to the Audiobooks excerpts because I don't have the right plug-in and can't download it. There's a program in my computer that prevents it from running and I can't figure out what to do. Oh, well, I'll have to wait for the CD, as I have nothing to play the audio version on (no iPod, no MP3 player). The possibility that Nailed might be released is exciting, but I won't believe it till it happens. Hope it does, though. I loved that quote from Naomi, that Jake was a really good cook from the time he was a little boy. Can you picture young Jake making chicken soup in the kitchen? So adorable.

You're welcome evie! Too bad you can't listen to Jake's reading. It's so good. I think exactly the same. I also like an idea of him, working with his mum in the garden. First Look: Gyllenhaal and Jackman are 'Prisoners'Detective Loki, portrayed by Gyllenhaal, is hot on the case and suspects Paul Dano’s character of committing the deed but can not hold the suspect in custody due to lack of evidence so the hunt continues. Without any children of his own in real life, Gyllenhaal said he draws off of his love and relationship with his two nieces, Ramona and Gloria Ray, daughters of acting sis, Maggie.
'My motivation is the children I know and love in my life,' the Brokeback Mountain actor says. 'Without having any children of my own my character’s love for these kids in the end is the same type of love that I have for my nieces and the kids I have in my life.'
When asked what it is like to work with Jackman for the first time, Gyllenhaal gushes about the Les Miserables actor.
'He’s a wonderful guy,' he says. 'When it's time to focus he focuses and is ready to go willing to go really deep into these scenes and to me as an actor working with him is [admirable].'More is here with Hugh Jackman and Jake's interview!: www.etonline.com/movies/133108_ET_Exclusive_Prisoners_Set_Visit/index.htmlSome great new stills from Nailed in IHJ Gallery - www.iheartjakemedia.com/thumbnails.php?album=2360In the meantime An Enemy changed its title on Enemy Within and it's said it's not finished yet.

Again, thanks for sharing these links, mermon. You're really kind to take the time. I'm so happy and r elieved to have news of Jake, to see current pictures of him and hear his voice (EW interveiw). Whenever things are quiet on the Jake front, when we don't see pictures or get news about his actions and plans, I tend to think something's wrong. Nurturing a major film career is a challenging business. Careers go up and down, and I'm always concerned that Jake's career could lose momentum, though it shouldn't. Hugh Jackman got it right: Jake is a spectacular actor. Prisoners sounds like a big movie and now I'm looking forward to it impatiently. That's quite a high-powered cast: two Oscar winners, several more nominees, and everyone a major, well-respected player. It's also fun to think of actually getting to see Nailed. The picture of Jake from Nailed is hilarious. You can tell exactly who his character is--goofy and greedy and self-absorbed. And Jake's body is amazing. He seems even more pumped than he was for PoP.

Yes, Jake is very pumped, especially when he's dressed in a tight shirt and too tight collar! Prisoners seems to get strong, fast publicity, that will help for sure to attracts attention. With so many well known actors, it won't be a problem. And the movie itself seems very interesting. i like this kind of films. IMO Jake's career is on a peak right now, since last very busy year, this one, 2013 may be even more packed with movies and promotions. Jake&Hugh's interview is on youtube right now Since Nailed photos appeared, let's have some of them. I find them funny and cute. Reese Witherspoon has a Twitter account, for those who want to know - Verified account @rwitherspoon - she tweets and post pictures

I noticed the too-tight shirt also, mermon. The collar looked as if it were strangling him. I wondered how Jake could work in such a constricted garment. I myself can't stand tight clothing, so this whole look made me uncomfortable. But I loved the interview.
Jake's been very busy this past year, and he's been doing a variety of things: movies, the play, the audiobook. Yet he hasn't been in a big movie in over two years. His current films have been independent projects that, while well-reviewed, haven't drawn big audiences or earnings. Maybe LAOD did well enough and had a broader audience (it runs a lot on HBO, a major cable station), but Source Code (also frequently shown on cable TV) and End of Watch didn't really get the audience they deserved in the theaters. Of course, having several films running on TV regularly keeps Jake's presence out there. October Sky still gets played, and I saw Zodiac listed on a cable channel recently.
Jake has some stiff competition in his age range--Ryan Gosling, Shia LeBoeuf, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Armie Hammer, Sam Worthington--and they seem to get the bigger, more noticeable/popular films. Careerwise, Jake is positioned to be the leading man or a major costar in the production, so he won't sign on for other, less prominent roles. Everything Jake is doing is for the good, but I feel he needs a big, successful film now. Maybe Prisoners will be it.

- same feelings, evie! I guess he doesn't mind, cause if he would, he could loosen it up during an interview. I have an impression that tight shirt and collar had a role to create a special image of Detective Loki, to make him stiff and very correct guardian of the law.
Talking about Jake's choices of his movies, I guess he likes the independent films. Though he had a huge fun making Prince Of Persia. From Twitter's comments - it seems that The Day After Tomorrow is played the most often on TV's, then BBM, Zodiac, POP. In my country - surprise - Proof.

I think you're so right about the tight shirt and collar creating an image for the detective. The thought had passed through my mind but I didn't pay attention to it. Now that you say it, I agree. Yes, I forgot about The Day After Tomorrow. That's always on here. Proof hardly comes around at all. Don't think I've ever seen it except on my own DVD. Once in a while BBM shows up, but not as much as the most recent ones I mentioned: LAOD and SC. October Sky goes through cycles: they'll play it a lot, then drop it for a long while. I don't see Zodiac listed that often, but when it is, it's on a channel I can't get on my TV. Too bad--it's a film I really like, and Jake is terrific in it. EOW hasn't appeared at all yet, but that may be because it only just came out on DVD. PoP runs from time to time; in fact, I caught a stretch of it about two weeks ago. I agree too that Jake seemed to have had fun doing that film, but he also worked like a demon making it and later nearly knocked himself out promoting it.

Jake Gyllenhaal To Star in Indie ‘Nightcrawler’ (EXCLUSIVE)Jake Gyllenhaal is continuing to focus on edgy, adult thrillers as he is set to star along with Rene Russo in the indie “Nightcrawler” that Tony Gilroy will produce.
Dan Gilroy is helming from a script he penned.
Story follows the story of a driven young man who discovers the nocturnal world of L.A. freelance crime journalism.
Gilroy will produce along with Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Fox along with Michel Litvak and David Lancaster who are producing and financing via their Bold Films banner.
Sierra/Affinity will kick off international sales in Cannes. CAA packaged the film and co-represents the film’s North American distribution rights with WME.
The film marks the directorial debut for Dan Gilroy, who co-wrote “The Bourne Legacy” with his brother Tony Gilroy.
Since leaving CAA and joining WME, Gyllenhaal has tackled more story-driven adult dramas including indie “An Enemy” and Alcon Entertainment’s “Prisoners” with Hugh Jackman.bit.ly/14ftajg

A nice story about Jake was just on my local news. They just spoke about how much attention he's been bringing to the Soul Cycle classes. Nice to hear about Jake while enjoying my dinner, haha. They didn't have any new photos or anything. Just had clips from Love and Other Drugs playing while they spoke about him.
