I'm starting new thread in new month, cause we may have fresh news tomorrow. Jake attends Paul Newman tribute in NY on Monday 2 April. A chance to see him in action! And for some formal pictures as well. ;D So far nothing new regarding The Enemy film. I bought the book - Jose Saramago - Double upon which movie will be based. Never read such a novel. It has no dialogue at all. As far as I see - not even one! But the story seems interesting. I hope someone will write nice screenplay and make Jake speak some lines. ;D And most of all, I hope Jake will take that double role. Main character Tertuliano Máximo Afonso - ha! - will have a 5 years younger doppelgänger with moustache! Would be interesting. I hope main character - depressed, divorced history professor won't have a long beard, though it's very possible judging by his growing beard. And it would match a professor. Anyway, let's him take that roles! Fingers crossed. ;D

Yeah, I hope he get the role. I know I have stated it before, but the music video show a great side to Jakes acting. IMO it will open a lot of doors.

No, not to poke you. ;D I believed that the beard is for filming and discovered just today that a character is shaven, at least at the beginning of the story. Wanted to share with all of you. It doesn't mean, that he won't have a beard later. Which may be filmed in other order.

It's all fine do not worry Mermon, i think that at least it's interesting to see how much the novel's character resembling to Gyllenhaal! Thanks for the info Hun! About beard is since years that Gyllenhaal let it grow from a movie and one other, not sure if it's a male thingy, or simply he's enjoying facial hairs

Maybe he just wants to be lazy and not shave. LOL one less thing to worry about when you get ready for the day.

I'm still curious about Atticus. I am hoping that when he does his next interview someone might ask him about the dog. He has taken that dog all over the place with him, he was in Montreal during the filming of Source Code. But he's been in NY since EOW ended filming in Sept (only went back to Calif for the GG and recently for a few days) no Atticus

I think Atticus lives or boards with other people in the LA area now and that Jake visits him when he's back on the West Coast. We've seen those pictures of Jake with other people, out walking with Atti and another dog. Jake is on the go all the time, back and forth between NY and California, and abroad. I think that, when he's not working or committed to certain appearances, he looks for adventure and follows it wherever and whenever it calls him. It's the lifestyle of an unattached young man. There's no way he can realistically keep a dog. But Jake and Atticus are great pals, and I've always been happy to see them together on Jake's movie sets. We didn't see any pictures of Atticus on EOW, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there. Or maybe that filming was too difficult to allow a dog to be around.

Well i hope that Gyllenhaal didn't give up his dog, honestly i hope that Atticus he's still with him, even George Michael had a quite hectic and wild life style full of concets, and travels here and there all over the europe last year, and also few problems with the law, which confined him in jail almost for 8 months, but he'd never get rid of his dog.... Hey Jessica about beard it could be a male lazy thingy

I hope that too. Would be so sad, if Atticus would feel abandoned.

Hey Jessica about beard it could be a male lazy thingy Oh, I feel the same way, Maria. I hope Jake wouldn't give up Atticus, and I think he wouldn't. For someone (like Jake) who hops back and forth from the East to the West Coast quite a bit and usually flies alone, it's extra work to shuttle a dog (or any animal) on a plane. The constant upheaval can't be good for the animal either. Having to walk the dog several times a day ties you down. Dogs can't travel on the NY subway and, I believe, taxicabs are not required to let a dog in (unless you are handicapped and need the animal to help you get around). IMO, taking a dog with you tends to draw attention. If you are walking the dog on a regular basis, then everyone knows where you'll be and when. Back in LA, in earlier years, Jake did this (and had two dogs!), but nowadays I think he's trying to avoid being noticed. I also think the beard serves several needs: it's just easier not to shave if he doesn't have to (male laziness, and maybe sensitive skin), and the coverage generally helps to make him less recognizable.

There are alot of good points about his dog. The poor thing could be at a point were he can not travle that well anymore. Like stated earlier, traveling is hard on pets. I don't think haveing a bread is concealing Jake. People,IMO, are looking for him with one. Maybe someone could ask him,
