Yes, James Spader is amazing... he was in "The Office" season finale the other day, Steve Carrel has left the show, and since he was the boss of the office, they need to find a replacement and Spader was one of the candidates. His character and his performance were amazing. I was really sad Steve had to go but I think Spader could do a great job... I only could think "please pick him!!!!!" while watching it

Well, let's see, "The Office" (US version), on imdb: www.imdb.com/title/tt0386676/It's based on a British show with the same name by Ricky Gervais (I love this guy, so funny!! love his humor, quite absurd the show on imdb www.imdb.com/title/tt0290978/First of all, it's a comedy. It is about the daily life of the workers of an office in a firm that sells paper. It's filmed like a documentary, I think it's called mockumentary now. The thing is that everyone has their own personality and goals, there's a guy that just wants to be promoted and does whatever the boss wants, the temporary worker that is just there because he has to, the guy that is fed up with his work and only does crosswords at work... and then there's the boss that is a jerk, the kind of person that thinks he is funny when he isn't, that is selfish, but also fears ending alone and having no friends... Also, there is a love story between the receptionist and one of the salesmen (the only normal one), that story is very cute... Well, I'm not a good reviewer (and since it's past midnight here I'm even worse) but I hope I gave you an idea of what it is about... I recommend it, it's funny although it's a little weird, specially the UK version (which is my fav one because the situations are so absurd they're hilarious).

Thanks for your review, Deb, I think it's a very good review! <3 I know Ricky Gervais and I have seen some episodes of his series of "The Office", yes it's a special kind of absurd humour, but I quite like it I like the term "mockumentary" After reading your review, I think James Spader indeed fits very well in this mockumentary series

Thank you els, not as good reviewer as you but I do what I can, haha. Yes, he totally does! I'm a huge fan of Ricky, he had another show, "Extras", that is also quite absurd, and it's about the life of, well, an extra! and in every episode he has a guest star such as Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet, David Bowie, Ian McKellen (brilliant)... it's quite fun, but "special absurd fun" like The Office. Oh and I also like the term mockumentary, lol

Very welcome! thank you for giving us the info about the episode! we wouldn't have seen it otherwise Yes, it's very funny, it was a pleasant surprise when I found it, and the good thing about Ricky Gervais shows is that the use to have 2 short seasons so they don't go on and on and on to the point that they no longer make sense, they tell a story and that's it, when he's finished telling the story, it ends. I rather that than having a show that last a lifetime but that loses the point of the story. Unless it's CSI or something like that, those can last longer because it's a different concept.

I guess that cop/mystery series, like CSI, are the best, as the personal lifes of the charcter are just partially part of the storytelling of the series.
