jakesgirl - I'll tell you what I've read on another Jake's forum. I found it very true and interesting. The biggest success is when great role for actor, his skills, involvement/engagement, matches with great movie (great script, music, directory, etc.). In Jake's case everything matched perfectly in BBM. That's why I am so mad that he and the movie didn't get Oscars. Such a opportunity doesn't happen often, actually very seldom. In some cases actor plays perfectly, but the movie is so, so. For some people probably POP it was that case. For me not, cause I adore POP. ;D Or script is very interesting, bur actors, at least some of them are not the best. I think it was a case in the movie, Maria wrote about in New Movies topic. Sometimes budget is too low and director has many problem with making the movie perfectly. So all the factors have to be on the same high level to really satisfy most of the audience and critics. And of course there are tastes which are indisputable. So don't worry. It's important, that you still like Jake. Aren't you?

It is not easy to make a masterpiece movie. I guess I have demanding taste I love Jake and nothing will change that. You really are not a pessimist, Jakesgirl <3 You just personally didn't like LAOD that much and you just have the same feeling about SC, absolutely nothing wrong with that, and believe me: there is nothing wrong with you, you are really very sweet! <3 thanks els!! no I think its you who is very very sweet person <3

thanks girls (els, sasha and maria) for earlier comments. Im sorry I didnt have time to response earlier. You said that Im not a pessimist. Well maybe not but I had this same feeling about SC when I first heard about it and I didnt like LAOD so.....I really dont know whats wrong with me and Jakes latest work. We dont match! Maybe its just matter of taste like you guys said cause its not that I dont hope EOW will be a good movie. I really hope it will. If Jake said it is amazing script then I guess I just have to trust him. I do like drama a lot so maybe this movies is mainly a good drama not just cop-drama On first hand i second what Mermon and Els posted. Correct what Mermon quoting as i've seen recently a movie, a drama, and the script was amazing, but the final cut of the movie simply hugly.... For what i can add recenlty Gyllenhaal hasn't done drama genre movie, like it was BBM, or The Good Girl, or also Rendition, as i like that genre as well i can surely understand what you mean, aboslutely there's nothing to worry about, at least even if Gyllenhaal find interesting a scrip, or a screenplay that doesn't emna thta all his audience end to like as much as him the movie.Guess i'm lucky as i love police/cop genre, and usually it's drama genre, but not sch innovative and fresh, i agree with you on that. On secon hand i agree with you, Gyllenhaal done so far in last year a sci-fi, a sexy comedy, and fantasy movie, not that i didn't like those Gyllenhaal's works, but not that big deal in the end, and if you didn't like those movies, well no matter, guess it's normal, it's just your taste and i respect you, and your opinion.

Yes you are absolutely right on spot here. I think its because Im such a drama fan and he used to do many drama movies. Now he is done movies from many genres. I understand he wants to do different genres....it would get very boring for him and makes one sided image of him if he is only making drama movies....so I understand. And he learns a lot making these different kinds of movies. I just really like great drama movies and I miss Jake in them. My opinion is that he is best in drama. We can only hope this movie turns out to be great. I think I will like it more than LAOD We are the sweet, partying, Gyllenhaalic Wannabe duo! After having seen Source Code I am not sure if EOW will be able to meet the same high level. David's movies all seem kind of alike. But we'll just have to wait and see.

[/quote] I'm such happy to be there, to be part of some nice board where we can chat and fair, even if we disagree, i can see what you mean, i like drama genre as well, i like to see Gyllenhaal do some drama movie in future, and why not maybe the hit of Source Code will giving him the change to choose among different screenpleay. I'm quite sure that end of watch would be different, as Sasha said, and the audicne thta going to see this latest Gyllenhaal's work surely will be different, with different expetations. So far i'm quite fine with your opinion and i agree with and Els, i would like to Gyllenhaal back into some Drama!

I've seen Training Day yesterday to get an idea of David Ayers work. I didn't like it the beginning that much, but after a while the story got really intruiging. It hasn't set my hopes up but it didn't beat them down either...
