I'm very excited about that movie. Jake says that a screenplay is very good. It's going to be first Jake's movie I will be "watching" in production since I became Gyllenhaalic. All others were done already. I also wonder who's going to play his partner. At least we know already from Jake's mouth, that this is a guy. I'm really intrigued by that movie, cause it looks like it won't be a regular police movie, like it's not about action, but more about relationship. So, it's interesting for me.

Same for me Mermon - LAOD was just about to premiere and Source Code had already wrapped shooting too. So this is really exciting for me as well.

I'll surely interested to see that movie, i like cop genre, and also seems form Gyllenhaal statement that he's already starts to figure out how his character will be, and that he'll try to make a credible permorme, so as far i'm entusiastic about it!

Ok here so far all the details already known abou this movie: Gyllenhaal talked about his next project in a cop drama, the movie should be directed by David Ayer, title End of WatchThe Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal is considering the possibility to participate in the police drama End of Watch written and directed by David Ayer. At the moment the plot of the movie it were news rather vague, but it seems that at the middle of the story there is a friendship between two long-time partners assigned to the same team. Ayer and John Lesher will produce the film with their Crave Films and Le Grisbi Prods. The director is not new the detective genre, as he signed the screenplays for Training Day, SWAT and Harsh Times - The days of hatred, starring Christian Bale. Recently Ayer has also directed Keanu Reeves on Street Kings, another cop drama. Jake Gyllenhaal had used his status as the action-hero starring in the Disney blockbuster Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Soon we shall see in sci-fi action Source Code, but the actor could aim to take the place of Matt Damon in the fourth installment of the Bourne saga, if he always win the day over formidable rivals like Garrett Hedlund or Shia LaBeouf.www.movieplayer.it/news/15986/jake-gyllenhaal-in-end-of-watch/

Some more about the story of "End of Watch" from some Gyllenhaal's statement:
"For the first time, we hear a little about End of Watch: it's “a beautiful screenplay about two Los Angeles police department officers. It’s about the nature of duty and friendship, and about the reasons why young guys put their lives in danger[...]"

Interview posted by Els: I = interviewer J = Jake
I: So true - so false : are you looking for a property in New York ? J: Euh…I wouldn’t know if that’s so true… But, I would say it’s somewhat true. I: okay. Is it true you’re going to play a cop in your next movie? J: By the way, you know, when you’re going to New York who doesn’t want to buy a property in New York or at least… rent? I: … Rent something, oh so you think of setting up shop in New York okay... J: I don’t know… I: Is it true you play a cop in your next movie? J: That is true, so true! I: What are you doing to prepare for the role? J: So many… I mean euh… everything, this role is a real, a sort of different approach than I’ve ever taken in preparing for a role before, and I’m just getting in there and hopefully it’ll be closest to euh… I just… All I care about it is doing the LAPD right, that’s what I’m trying to do and I’m learning everything I can. I: So you’re preparing by going bowling over the weekend with Adam Levine? Who is the better bowler between the two of you guys? J: Well the movie starts in July, so we have a couple of months. And every once in a while… I’m not (…) (I'm not napping for seven months" (meaning he won't just lay on the couch letting time pass) or "I'm not mapping for seven months" (-Traslated by Sasha-meaning that he hasn't planned out the whole time until the movie starts...), seven months before and… But euhm… cops do bowl, so I don’t know what to say about that. I: Okay, who’s the better bowler between you guys? J: I’ll give it to Adam, definitely. I: You’re such a great gentleman… J: I’m spending enough… I’m spending time working on my characters and the roles in my work, you know what I mean, so I don’t have so much time for bowling. I: Thanks for spending some time with us tonight, congrats on Source Code! J: Thank you so much for having me!

Uhmm new movie. Im saying this even if many of you will think Im a pessimist but seriously im not too excited about this movie. I dont like cop movies. They are usually kinda boring to me. Its an old setting....two cops..friendship..blaa blaa seen many times before. I was hoping he could do something new and fresh next. Well we still dont know much about the movie or the story...Im really hoping there is something great about the script or the story itself...other than just basic cop-drama. I do hope gyllenhaal isnt just hyping the movie by saying its a beautiful screenplay. I do trust Jakes word but just saying cause he did say LAOD was a GREAT story and I didnt like it very very much. I know im pessimist....sorry

I totally understand you, Jakesgirl, from your pov Don't worry about it, I don't think you're a pessimist at all, you are just being honest and I really appreciate that a lot! Imo Jake was right: LAOD is a very interesting, great story! The problem is that it didn't turn out into an excellent movie, it turned out to be a very good movie BUT with some balance problems here and there; just my opinion I am enthousiastic about his new project, End of Watch. Imo it's way to early to say whether this movie will be "just another cop movie", or not... I don't know... but for some reason I don't think it will be just that, I think Jake always goes for quality... I hope that the screenplay is very interesting and the movie will turn out great
