I love this movie and I absolutely love the way Jake played Holden, he is such a great actor and this was one role where his skills really came through

Nice question, Lizabethann Btw I totally agree with what you said here: My favourite scenes... Of course the first motel scene! hehe And the last motel scene too, I love how sweet Holden is, and how sweet he smiles, you can see he cares so much for Justine; Jake is such an extraordinary actor! The scene where Holden and Justine sit in her car, before his house, seeing the kids dressed up for Halloween, going from door to door, and Justine is talking about how she used to dream from other jobs, other cities and other husbands, but that she now doesn't know what to dream anymore (or something like that), I love the way Holden (Jake) looks at her, you can see he understands her, he sighs a little and then lays his hand on her knee I love the whole scene at Chuck E Cheese! I love the scene by the lake, when they both sit in the car and Holden tells her about how he sees life with her in the future. I know it's very naive and all, but I love how Jake conveys so much of Holden's feelings, in such an extraordinary way! I love the scene where Justine asks Holden "What are you reading?" and he says "Catcher in the Rye. I'm named after it" and she says "What's your name?... Catcher?" Hahaha LOL I know it's probably not supposed to be funny, as she says it with a serious face, I don't think she's joking (says something about her knowledge, or lack of, imo) but to me it sounded very funny And I love the scenes with Zooey Deschanel, full of dry humour hahaha To a woman who just bought something: "Here's your change, and fuck you very much" Woman: "Excuse me?" And then she says: "THANK you very much"

I like all the scenes you described + the scene when they sit at the table and Justine kisses Holden spontaneously. And in his room - first visit, when she says she can see in his eyes how he hates the world, or something like that, but I look at his eyes and don't see such a thing. ;D And actually all the scenes where they together, cause it was such a great interaction between them. You forget they are actors, watching them.

I love the scenes when Holden hurt the palm of his hands, and every scene when he's writing, he's such sad and romantic at the same time....

- Holden is left-handed and when he writes, he does it very specifically, putting his whole arm on the paper. It gives him a look kind of lost, sweet - like a boy. Your right, me too - I like every scene when he writes something. - I like that smile on him, when he put a berry in his mouth. It's his typical smile from left profile. Adorable.
