Jake participates in many events lately. May 6 he was at The Met Costume Gala(Metropolitan Museum of Art 2013 Costume Institute Gala) In NYC with many other a-list celebrities. looking very dashing. The theme this year was Punk: Chaos to Couture. So many famous people there! Anne Hathaway, Maggie Gyllenhaal with her husband Peter Sarsgaard, Madonna, Gerard Butler, Sarah Jessica Parker with unusual hairdo, Michelle Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift, Carey Mulligan, Marcus Mumford and among all of them our Jake, looking excellently. Jake Gyllenhaal donated $5,000 to a mental healthcare charity supporting military veterans. The 'End of Watch' actor generously opened up his cheque book at the Headstrong Project's Words of War event - which raised money for comprehensive psychological help for troops who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan - at the IAC building in New York City last night (08.05.13). The 32-year-old star was one of the speakers booked for the event and followed up his address by getting the auction proceedings underway. However, after the first few minutes of the sale - which was being held to raise funds for mental health care - went by without a bid, the Oscar-nominated actor stepped up with a $5,000 donation to go toward training in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), a type of psychotherapy used to treat posttraumatic stress disorder, E! News reports. Earlier, Jake had recited Wilfred Owen's poem 'Dulce et Decorum Est', a war piece written during World War I which depicts the brutal horrors soldiers face on the frontlines and the subsequent effect it has on them. Each of the night's speakers shared similar war-themed written works, describing the impact war has on veterans, who often return home in severely distressed mental state, as well as their families. The cause is likely one close to Jake's heart after starring in Sam Mendes' 2005 war drama 'Jarhead', which is based on the real life experiences of US Marine Anthony Swofford. www.cosmopolitan.co.za/CelebGossip/JakeGyllenhaaldonates5000tomilitaryhealthcareIHJ gallery: Jake reading a poem by Wilfred OwenText is here: gyllencrazy.tumblr.com/post/50004691943/headstrong-eventJake is from 19:50 That one is from IHJ, simply Jake:

Didn't want to start a new thread, but wanted to say how excited I am about the possibility of Jake appearing in Into the Woods! If it works out, we'll finally get to hear him sing, hopefully in his regular voice, not the screaming falsetto of SNL. With production starting this fall, it's likely this film won't reach the theaters till late 2014 or even spring 2015. I saw the original production of Into the Woods on Broadway. It's a very long show full of many characters. I can't recall the two princes, so I'm thinking maybe the roles aren't that big. But the article said that many more name stars will be in the cast, so plenty of familiar faces (and voices) will be making cameo appearances. I believe this is a smart move for Jake, as it will show his versatility. The director, Rob Marshall, is the guy who brought us Chicago a few years back. This gives me pause, as I was very distressed by the editing of its musical numbers. Fingers crossed that Marshall doesn't do the same high-speed, slash-and-dash trickery with Into the Woods. I want to be able to linger on Jake's every move.

Thanks to Stephanie we found out yesterday that Jake went on a mysterious helicopter's trip. Maybe to talk about another very exciting news: Chris Pine And Jake Gyllenhaal Consider Heading "Into The Woods" as two princes of Cinderella and Rapunzel. I don't know that musical, but all about it sounds so interesting. Meryl Streep and Johny Depp are already in cast! Would be great to see and hear Jake in it! Don't you think so? Chris Pine, Jake Gyllenhaal Circling ‘Into The Woods’iheartjake.com/2013/05/chris-pine-jake-gyllenhaal-circling-musical-into-the-woods/"Into the Woods" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Into_the_WoodsHi, Evie! We posted at the same time. So you did like the original, right? I'm so excited too. Let's check how they sing! It's one more from SNL - “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls, but I didn't find it on youtube.

if my memory is correct I think Jake was once a singer in a band in his younger days - can't even remember its name now. He seems to be multi-talented as well as lovely.
