I'm reading this book in English (couldn't find it in Dutch): "Nostalgia isn't what it used to be" by Simone Signoret, it's her biography. She was such an interesting, intelligent, sweet, beautiful woman and a great actress imo

smilla - how do you like "Water for elephants?" I liked that book very much and can't wait the movie, it's so soon! I currently read two books - Stieg Larsson - Milenium(I) and like Book - Jonathan Kellerman, but different book - - "Survival of the fittest". Actually he's my favourite author and Alex Delaware is my favourite book character since many years.

I'm currently reading Simone Signoret's very interesting biography but yesterday I put that aside for a while, because I received a book, that I ordered on Amazon, that I was very much looking forward to reading: "One Tear Is Enough - My Life with Laurence Harvey". And I read it almost in one breath. It's a book that is written by Paulene Stone, who was Laurence Harvey's (third) wife and she tells with a lot of love and warmth about her life with him. And about his very courage battle against stomach cancer, which unfortunately he lost... I love Laurence Harvey, I think he is -was- a really great (much underrated!) actor, intriguing, spellbinding, and that's why I was so interested in reading this book, to find out more not only about LH the actor, but also -and especially- about LH the person. Although he certainly had his flaws, and he was often described by gossip garbage press as an "arrogant cad" (they were so wrong!), he really was a genuinly nice, profound, intelligent, witty, generous man who cared deeply about and very much appreciated his loved ones. I love the book - and the man!...

Els, I don't like to read biographies, but you always make them sound fun and easy to read.

I will bring "Nothing to fear" by Karen Rose on the train to Berlin - I will be able to follow that even with my thoughts somewhere else.
