I sure know how to pick the time to join the forum Anyway, what do you think what could be this work opportunity for Gale? What do you think about this? The complete list of shows from E! is below, but there are two projects that jump out. The first is "Fascination Street," from, among others, executive producer Phillip Noyce and writer Stephen Kijak (who directed the doc "Scott Walker: 30 Century Man"), a look at two brothers in a band that jumps between the past, when they were trying to make it big, and the present, in which their lead singer has disappeared.FASCINATION STREET A then-and-now look at the tumultuous relationship between two brothers as they work to make their band a success in the past and struggle to find who is behind the disappearance of the lead singer in the present. From executive producers Phillip Noyce (directed the feature films "Salt," "Clear and Present Danger," "Patriot Games"), Josh Reims ("Brothers & Sisters," "Dirty, Sexy Money," "Felicity"), Ross Fineman ("Lights Out"), and writer Stephen Kijak (documentary director of "Stones In Exile," "Scott Walker: 30 Century Man"). From Fox Television Studios.www.indiewire.com/article/television/e-scripted-seriesI'm only mentioning this because I noticed Gales friend S. Kijak is the creator and writer of the show. This is just crazy speculation.

From Scott Lowell's Twitter
Hey, all. Sorry I've been out of touch the past few days. Been a little busy. Did I miss anything? ;0) Kidding, I kid. Well, by now many of you attending our amazing QAF convention in Cologne in a couple of weeks have heard that Gale Harold has had to cancel his appearance there as well as at the Benefit for the Blank Theatre. Gale has been cast in a wonderful film and ...his schedule won't allow him to attend. He is just as disappointed as we all are and a letter he wrote apologizing and explaining will be posted soon on the convention website. But this is a "Queer as Folk" convention and not a Gale Harold convention so while I know his absence will upset many I hope the realization that 8 of the main 9 cast members WILL be there will be cause enough to celebrate and enjoy this amazing and unique event. I'm really sad not to get to share this experience with one of my dearest friends but I know the joy I am going to feel at getting to reunite with so many other friends and to meet so many new ones will more than make up for my sorrow.

emelwhy - Lol. Yes, you're right! So, it's a 'wonderful' film? Hopefully we'll get to see it! Thanks to Scott for this great statement. Hopefully, the fandom will cool down now. Randy's picture is great. He always seems so happy around Brian. Love it!

Randy's picture is great. He always seems so happy around Brian. Love it! That's what I like about Brian. He and Randy seem to have a lot of fun together. I thought about the caption Brian gave the photo: "Thunderstorm, Spring Cleaning, Gal Costa & this ..." The photo was posted today, I believe, and there were thunderstorms in the NYC area...so I'm picturing Randy and Brian cleaning Randy's condo while dancing around the place, listening to a Gal Costa album.

OMG, that picture of Randy taken by Brian is beyond cute!! Now, there's a true sunshine smile.
Also wanted to add that I feel for the fans who're disappointed that Gale won't be at the con but I hope you enjoy it just as much or even more with the rest of the cast and qaf fans coming to the con from all around the world and share some wonderful memories with those of us who won't be there.

Grape, You're wrong on so many levels. I'm sorry you can't see it. And you have done such an amazing job convincing us all of that..l

I don't think Grape is wrong at all! Honestly, she makes more sense than the ever ignorant Gale fans that insist he can do no wrong simply because he's dreamy. Let's be honest here! His work lately has been mediocre at best with his Indie film stuck in post production and his growing list of TV shows that don't last past the first season. Unless this film is some huge mainstream diamond, which I seriously doubt, then I would have to say that his actions were truly inconsiderate and selfish.
This is not the first time he has shown blatant disregard for his fans. Now I ask you this; Do you honestly believe that he gives a damn about any of you?! If he did, he would have put his fans before a film job that is guaranteed to be yet another low budget flop with bad plotlines and lame acting.
In fact, there are multiple reports of him being totally rude to fans that approached him for autographs while he was filming The Secret Circle (and I'm talking actual fans here! Not those photog folks.) He snapped at them and refused to give them even a moment of his precious time when we give him our time constantly. We see his movies, we watch his low rated television shows, and we travel to see him in plays! It's quite hurtful that he doesn't show his fans the same respect that we have always shown him.
For all of you who still think that Gale is a wonderful human being take this into consideration: If you make a prior commitment to friends and people that adore you and then break that commitment simply because someone waves a wad of cash in your face then you're a selfish jerk with no morals.
Yes, I've heard the excuse that it's just "business" and it's quite ironic that people are quoting Brian Kinney. Obviously they've forgotten that when it came down to being loyal to his friends and family Brian Kinney chose to stand beside the people that love him rather than campaign for Stockwell. That decision cost Brian his job and all of his money! Even the selfish, self serving fictional Brian Kinney seems to be a better man than the actor that was chosen to depict him...
I am one of those who will NOT be attending the convention because I'm a 21 year old college student with no money but I still find Gale's choices and actions to be cruel and narcissistic. I truly sympathize with all of his disappointed and upset fans. I'm more of a Randy girl myself so for all of you that are attending, enjoy yourselves with the precious Mr. Harrison for me! Have great fun with the super sweet Scott Lowell and Peter Paige as well:) Don't get too down about Gale. He's so not worth the stress and sorrow!
XOXO, Heather

OK, Grape, I get it, you're seriously pissed, but to start your post with a general insult against this board is a wrong choice if you want sympathies for your arguments.
Your statement, that nobody else ever canceled a con but one other actor is naive. Sorry. It happens all the time. John Barrowman and Jason Whateverhisnameis were examples given. Did you check out the Star Trek cons? I'm pretty sure something like this happened with them too, esp. Patrick Stewart, who is far more in demand than the rest of the crew.
From day one it was clear, that all the actors have an out clause in their contracts. Before buying a ticket one had to tame the inner fanghurl and ask oneself, how will I react, if Gale is not coming? What would I regret more? Missing one actor or missing the whole QAF convention? Only this seems like a solid base for such an expensive decision to make. Hindsight is 20/20, but if you are willing to spend so much money only YOU are responsible for it. No one else. It's a business transaction with a major uncertainty.
I obviously don't know Gale, I just hear the legends of his cancellations over the years, so yeah, nobody can be really surprised it happened again. Especially, if your are a devoted fan knowing so much about him. But I highly doubt he canceled for any other reason than a professional one. Going to conventions has the whiff of a has-been, of needing to do it for the money, as disappointing as it is for his fans, I'd choose the job in his place, too. (And it's not just a three day trip. It's preparation, a long travel, jet lag, the exhausting con, different food and climate, a hotel bed, everybody wants a piece of you, observant eyes scanning for some Gale/Randy RPS, traveling back, next jet lag etc. This all during a shoot where you have to look your best and act your best? No way!) Actors come in LA a dime a dozen. He's not a HW diva in a postion to make any demands. 'Take the job under these conditions or don't call us, we'll call you.' That's how this business works. Soooo many actors are unemployed. I'm excited he already got the next job!
And we all know, how he was cast for QAF. Shooting started within a week. Same goes for Rehab IIRC. This happens all the time.
He came late into this acting profession. Clearly his personality is not that of a famewhore. He isn't fond of the attention of (very likely hormonally charged) fans around him. We all know that he doesn't like to give autographs etc. So why approach him anyway during TSC? Give him a rest and respect his wishes. No-one forces someone to be his fan. He doesn't fulfill your unrealistic expectations? Too bad.
He is willing/able to give a certain amount of himself and TSC used him for the PR so much, we had lots and lots of interviews. In writing and in front of the camera. We were spoiled during the last months!
We may know his career, but we don't know him and quite likely never will.
Everyone going to the convention has the right to be disappointed. But from the very beginning it was always an option, that some actors could drop out. Be happy, that EIGHT will make it! This will be a one in a lifetime event. The cherry on the top is missing, but the rest of the sundae is still delicious.
Heather - Your Gale/Brian character analysis has me ROFL. You are aware, that there is Real Life and Reel Life, right?

Whats happening on this blog? As Justin Taylor said " This used to be a happy place, now it's like watching the Wizard Of Oz in reverse" Real fans forgive and forget, life is to short to carry a grudge. Have a great day everyone.

Grape - I agree with you completely! Especially what you just mentioned agout Stephen Kijack. In spite of all I've seen posted by those more in the know than me, I can't believe that anyone would deny him three days for a very long standing commitment, tentative or not. Hopefully his wonderful and exciting movie opportunity will be something that I actually get to see. I've been waiting for wonderful and exciting since QAF.
