I hope he gets the prize! But Johnny Depp is nominated twice... and he is probably the most competitive, or?
I keep my fingers crossed too =D Hope, it'll help.

Maybe I can get this article from the December/January edition of SKIP (an austrian movie magazine) scanned, but it's so nice I wanted to share it right away: PLAY to WINDonnie Darko, Brokeback Mountain, Prince of Persia and now Love & Other Drugs – Jake Gyllenhaal, the 30 year old exceptional talent with the funny face, loves to be at home in any genre. Because he plays to win as he told SKIP during an exclusive interview in London.SKIP: Have you learned something about Viagra by making this movie that you did not know before?JG: (laughs) It is a very complex drug in any case. What I did find funny was that Viagra wasn’t invented on purpose but has been stumbled upon more or less by accident. Actually they wanted to make a heart drug – and suddenly everybody at the lab was running around with an erection (laughs). Generally this is one of the nice things in life: you stumble onto the most wonderful things just so, although you wanted something completely different. SKIP: This is the second movie after Brokeback Mountain you have sex with Anne Hathaway…JG: That’s true – although the first time around hasn’t been so glorious since I played a gay husband, so I really had to make amends for that in some way (laughs). Isn’t it nice when you get a second chance as a man? SKIP: The two lovers in LAOD are having a hard time letting love happen. How do you feel in this area? Does love scare you?JG: Love itself doesn’t scare me, just the things surrounding it. There is such an incredible amount of risk with it. First of all you need to be crazy courageous to let someone know you love them. Because there is always a risk the person does not feel like you do. And even if she did the next danger is just around the corner: it is inevitable that this person is going to be gone at one point. Even if love does last an entire life death is waiting at the end. There is no eternal love. And that scares the hell out of me. These feelings are so big and so wonderful that it hurts tremendously to loose them. SKIP: Is it (love) more complicated with you being famous?JG: Why should it be? SKIP: Because the two of you are never really alone together. When you and Reese Witherspoon broke up we have basically all been there too.JG: Oh, you were? Well then, thank you so much for your support. (laughs) But no, love doesn’t discriminate. Love is always difficult whether you’re famous or not. SKIP: You are from a true Hollywood family. Has this prepared you for what happened to you later on?JG: That sounds like I am some sort of soldier (laughs). Prepared for what? Giving interviews in a beautiful luxurious hotel (laughs)? Of course through my parents I had some sort of imagination what such a carrier could be like. But there is no script for live. And all experiences through which I truly learned something I made in the so called real life and certainly not in Hollywood. SKIP: Your sister Maggie is a movie star too. When the two of you meet do you talk about your work or do you try to avoid that as much as possible?JG: The later I’d say. Although I am a huge fan of her. Sometimes when we are uncertain about a decision we do seek each other for advice. And when Maggie has not gotten a part again I do explain to her what complete idiots must have been at work. SKIP: And does Maggie tell you what she thinks about your work?JG: She does when she thinks I was good (laughs). I am sure that she does think I was bullshit every now and then, but usually I know that by her not saying anything. SKIP: Which one of your movies is your personal favourite?JG: That’s a difficult one to answer since I am really proud of several of them und not always for the same reasons as critics or audience. SKIP: Does that mean you care less for box office results?JG: No, of course I do care! You don’t play this game if you don’t want to win (laughs). I don’t expect success to make me happy or fulfil all my dreams. But it does provide chances. Nevertheless I know that I will always and in any case be able and keep making movies. I have even made a movie with my iPhone. There is nothing that could stop a good idea. But when you are scared by that you will become tense and start making wrong choices. SKIP: What does make you happy?JG: A well cut suit. Running. Watching my niece dance. That’s the most beautiful thing at all. *** This is my 1.000th post - yeah! ***

I thought so too. Watching Jake wearing a well cut suit makes me happy too. And I find it extremly attractive when a guy can enjoy being around kids.

I think it's difficult to be funny in a different language so you can take it as quite a compliment!
